Water & Sewer: What Can I Do?

What to do immediately following water or sewer damage: 

1) Call Recoveron!

2) Call Your Insurance Company: Report the damages to your insurance company.

3) Stop the Water Source:  If safe to do so, locate the source of the water and turn off any supply valves.  If required, call a plumber or other qualified tradesman to repair the source of the problem. 

4) Electricity: Disconnect power to impacted areas. Remember water is a conductor of electricity so do not allow wet surfaces or materials to come in contact with an electrical source. Shut off your power if there is any risk. Do not use any electrical appliances while standing on wet floors.

5)  Remove Standing Water:  Remove as much standing water with a squeegee, mop etc...

6) Contents: Move wet contents to a dry place. Keep a detailed list of anything you need to discard - this will help with any insurance claim you need to make.
